This month's membership meeting was Feb 13th at 7:00pm at the Coralville Library. We had several new members attend the meeting this month. Thanks for coming, and we hope you join the club!

During the meeting, I did omit a few items I wanted to talk about so even if you attended, please review the following information.

  • We announced the Jan NCC winners, Duane Staskal and Karen Stierler. Karen put up an ultra impressive 621 miles on her bike, over 100 more than the top male! Also, Lynda Green won the random drawing this month. All three winners will receive $25 gift cards to World of Bikes. The combined mileage leaders for January were Chris Langenberg and Karen Stierler. Our team took 7th in our division, and 20th overall for our bike mileage, and 21st for our combined mileage. Great job everyone!!!
  • Daniela Williams updated the details about our uniform order for 2012. The uniforms will look similar, but with minor tweaks and new sponsor...

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to send out one final e-mail with the final plan for the Bike Maintenance Class on Saturday February 11th.
The class will be held at the Coralville Library in the Schwab Conference Room from 2:00-4:00.
We will split up into groups and work our way through each station.
Cleaning
Adjustments
Wheels and tires
Equipment

We plan on each station lasting approximatley 20 minutes which will leave plenty of time at the end for a little Q&A time.
You do not need to bring your bike. Jon and Ryan will have bikes.

If you have any questions feel free to call me on my cell 319-321-4553. If you try and reach me during the class I will ahve no reception in the library.
Thanks Kim

PS Don't forget the monthly meeting on the 13th!

For those of you who could not make it to the meeting yesterday, here is the summary of what was discussed:

  • Don't forget that the Holiday party is coming up on the 21st. We have a LOT of great prizes lined up for the silent auction; many people will come away from the night with some great items! And if you want to join us for the auction, but not for the dinner, you can come to the event for free. Just make sure to come before the bidding ends at 9:00pm. If you are planning on coming for the dinner portion of the evening, even if you would like to pay at the door, please RSVP on the webpage:
    http://iaheat.org/holidayparty
Remember to bring your own drinks and we will have some coolers and ice setup at the event.
  • We will be getting a Fit Kit in for our uniforms next month. Please keep an eye on the emails from the team for more information in early February.
  • Our Board is...

For those of you who could not attend the monthly team meeting last month, I wanted to send a quick summary about what was discussed.

  • We had 10 people volunteer to join committee's to augment our Board's efforts to support and improve the team. Thank you to all those who are interested, and expect to see some additional information via email as we get things organized.
  • We are putting in some major NCC mileage this year! Keep it up!! Unfortunately, our division looks as it has gotten a bit tougher this year as well, but we are still hovering between 3rd and 7th place depending on the day. My hope is people just started strong and are going to lose some steam, so let's just hang tough and keep putting down the miles.
  • Mederic Hall and his wife Joanna have offered to start up a track practice for Wednesdays at the Rec Building on Iowa's campus. This is not finalized, so pay attention to the website for more information about...

Hello,
Hope everyone is enjoying the cold and possibly more snow tonight! I can not believe it is time for our December meeting already. The next team meeting will be Monday December 12th at 7:00 PM. It will be at the Coraville Library as usual but we will be in room B instead of the large conference room.
Denise Barnhouse will be with us again. She will give an overview of her talk last month and devote most of the time to questions. If you have questions already feel free to e-mail me with them and I can pass them on to Denise so she can prepare, my e-mail is kimberly-sprenger@uiowa.edu
See you next Monday.
